Stupidity is always punished

Historians will have a hard time explaining western attitudes to China during the early 21st century.

Industrial espionage is rampant. infringements of intellectual property rights are so widespread that they barely merit a comment. When sometime actually tries to seek redress in a Chinese court, they are guaranteed to fail, as Sir James Dyson recently discovered.

From today's Telegraph.....

Sir James Dyson says he has spent £3.5m fighting Chinese companies who stole his designs last year and even hired private detectives to spy on illegal Asian workshops where his bladeless fans are taken apart and copied.

The British inventor accused Chinese authorities of turning a blind eye to native companies which violate intellectual property rights by imitating successful designs. Sir James said he had spent £3.5m pursuing often futile legal cases in Chinese court.

Chinese firms steal British designs, and produce the goods cheaper than here. The Chinese ship the goods over to Britain, and wipe out British manufacturing. The design costs are shouldered by us, the profits are earned in China.

As my much beloved Grandmother often said "stupidity is always punished".

For the ecomomies in the west, Chinese imports are weapons of mass destruction.

How completely clueless.

Does the UK firm have a patent? If not then China is stealing nothing and the UK firm is either stupid or lying.

Assuming the UK company does have a patent, then its very easy to get the Chinese goods banned from any western county where the patient is in effect.

Your assertion that it wipes out UK manufacturing is a crock of (brown & smelly).

We did the same to them. How much royalty was paid for porcelain or gunpowder?
