The eurozone is like a sackful of kittens

The Eurozone is like a batch of newly born kittens. Evil Mr. Bond Market can't cope with them and has decided to put them into a sack and throw them into the canal.

The UK, however, was the prettiest kitten of all, and Mr. Bond Market has decided to keep that one. The UK is very sad about the other kittens; really, she is....

but she would prefer to be purring cutely by Mr. Bond Market's feet, than sinking to the bottom of the canal with her brothers and sisters.

My brother once saw an incompetent chump heave a bag of kittens into a harbour. He'd picked the wrong sort of bag and it floated. Boy did the kittens wail. Bro' and fellow urchins took pity and stoned the bag until it sank, giving the poor wee things a faster, kinder death. There's a moral there for all of us.
