Being able to nominate a principal residence for tax purposes is completely legit (notwithstanding the Richard Murphy vs Tim Worstall debate) and anyone can do it; in my mind the problem arises where's there's been multiple instances of "flipping" to maximise allowances and minimise Council Taxes.
Rather than them paying the tax to HMRC (as Blears did) I'd be much more interested in seeing the entire profits paid to the Exchequer, since we all put them in the position of being able to have a second house.
If any one of us got caught stealing - which is exactly what these MP's have been doing, we would be sacked on the spot and would find it almost impossible to get another job. These people are in public office and should have acted as mentors. These people not fit to hold ANY job, never mind one of such responsibility !
