Up to 5,450 British jobs are in jeopardy at Barratts and Priceless Shoes after creditors rejected a restructuring plan for the owner of the failed footwear retailers.
Why should unproductive U.K. peasants expect to wear shoes anyway. Especialy as they don"t make any anymore. 1 in 5 of the ignorant b-ggers got jumped ,up above their class promotions in banks, as counter managers but couldn’t even get a handle on the credit principles of running decent banks . This comes from wearing shoes . You know, how to add up the numbers to make a REAL profit. Now there is some mathematical hope for the future of U.K banks as if they are to be shoeless they can go back to counting with their toes too. Any way now the peasants are turning shoeless again , we even can hope that some may eventually turn into a Ye olde sans culottes peasant type mob. complete with pikes for the labour lord aristocrats.
The broon dunnit. Simple self protection. He noticed the growing trend to shoe throwing and moved to put a stop to it. Find old lucky horse shoes instead?
A pity as Barratts sold good shoes at reasonable prices.
I suspect they have been undercut by all these 3-month-lease fly by night cheapie imported rubbish footwear operators that seem so prevalent nowadays all over the world and whose footwear seems to last about three weeks before the soles fall off. Remember folks, you really do get what you pay for.

I wonder how much of the high street will be standing after one year.

Depends on how fast rents fall. If they fall quickly then most good shops will still be around.
