Wait, it gets worse (post on my blog).
A New York Times article from 1999 that predicts Fannie Mae will have to get bailed out eventually... and predicts something worse than the S&L crisis.
In 1999! They knew then and did it anyways...
It's a shame Friedman is one of the idiots. He's just annoyed they aren't following the Friedman Plan.

The US had a set of rules to follow - the constitution. If they aren't being followed, no wonder it's not working.
