UK house prices increase in January
At least that is what the Halifax house price data tells us. The increase is only found in the seasonally adjusted data. The non-adjusted data shows a slight drop in January.
Still, why upset people unnecessarily; for all those property speculators out there, this is really good news. The UK housing market has finally turned the corner. With exceptionally low interest rates and rising incomes, it has never been a better time to buy than now. Furthermore, housing is always an excellent investment.... I have got to stop... I am getting carried away.
If I had turned a different corner in life, I could have made it as a real estate agent.

Alice, you could have made it as a real estate agent, but you went over to the dark side.
The Ticker Guy presnts some interesting arithmetic on buying a house in Chicago

Good graph! G on, Alice, show us what this would look like deflated by the RPI! I bet that gives a sharper downward gradient on the righthand side!
Blessings, B in C.
House prices are not going up: paper money is going down.
