Guardian has a daily circulation of just under 250k. A circlation of 2.5m would make it spectacularly profitable.
http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=47846&c=1

And a daily readership of just over 1.1m
http://www.guardian.co.uk/advertising/guardian-circulation-readership-statistics

I've never seen "monthly circulation" figures quoted and these in any case look wrong.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2948538160252327076.post-30098255464172566022011-09-19T09:29:54.973+01:002011-09-19T09:29:54.973+01:00Pardoxically, I think that one of the Guardian'...Pardoxically, I think that one of the Guardian's biggest problems is one of the insitutions which the paper and its readers champion - the BBC.

I don't think it is a co-incidence that the Daily Mail website is almost level pegging with the BBC in terms of UK online viewship - the daily mail offers (a) right wing view points (b) celebrity goss. These strike a cord with the public and are something which the BBC doesn't and won't provide.

If the Guardian aims to be a voice of the centre-left then it is operating in the same space as the BBC. While it is true that the BBC doesn't offer as many comment pieces their view of the world is essentially the same. You only have a chance of getting people to pay for something that the BBC doesn't provide for free.markymarknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2948538160252327076.post-74238343498588823692011-09-18T17:17:26.765+01:002011-09-18T17:17:26.765+01:00The Tories were supposed to cut off the public sec...The Tories were supposed to cut off the public sector vacancy lifeline to the Guardian.
