Forty-four percent of UK births outside marriage


What? We are only fourth?

Forty-four percent of children are born outside marriage.

The data is 2006-7, but things probably haven't changed much.

    Interestingly, the lowest bastardy rates in England are in the City Formerly Known As Swinging London. Highest are in the whitest region (North-East).

    Given the high Muslim population of France, these figures suggest that two thirds of native babies there are bastards.

    Consider for the majority of the population officially recorded marriage has only been fairly recently introduced as they owned no property, there was no inheritance issues to be worried about.
