Sweetening the cabinet crisis
This has got to be the most absurd appointment since Thatcher appointed Jeffrey Archer as deputy chairman of the Conservative party.
What does Brown think he will gain by hiring a TV personality as the "Enterprise czar"? Does he think that voters will be somehow impressed by his innovative personnel policies? Does he think we will be distracted by the catastrophic collapse of the New Labour government.
One thing is for sure; Sir Alan Sugar's time in the government will be mercifully short. By Sunday, Brown will be gone, and Sir Alan will be back on the telly firing apprentices.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when the new PM, whoever it is, says "You're fired!"
This appointment is nuts.
I nominate The Donald for US Secretary of state--no less absurd than this.
Snoop Dogg for Secretary of Education, while we're at it!
