Irish unemployment - highest for 12 years

After enjoying over a decade of extraordinary economic growth, Irish unemployment has exploded. In March, the rate hit 11 percent of the workforce.

The return of the bad old days. Ireland, historically, has always suffered from high unemployment.

Does this mean that they'll return to the habit of coming here to live off our welfare state? Or can we go there and do it?

Why are the bulk of these people not claiming sickness benefit like in the UK?
